Weronika (Różycka) Marcelis

PAINTINGS

05 – 11 dec. 2025

OPENING on Saturday from 16:00h

Weronika (Różycka) Marcelis
I’m a professional artist who loves merging modernity with classic style. I’ve been living in the Netherlands for three years, and these have been my best years. I’m in love with this country, and what I see and experience here inspires me to paint. I create a unique kind of art art that is soulful and one of a kind. I don’t paint for everyone, but for those who resonate with it.
My art will never be replicated no prints, no copies, only one original piece. It’s a fusion of classic luxury and the honor of owning something truly exceptional. I create an experience that makes you feel you genuinely need it. My art is pure luxury, an unforgettable experience that you can be part of and enjoy to the fullest.

PETER PETERSEN
paintings

14,15,16 November, 2025

Opening on Saturday from 16:00h

Peter Petersen (Amsterdam, 1945–2025)
Architect and painter. He constructs his canvases the way he would design buildings: with structure, rhythm, and a surprising lightness. His paintings are colorful, often abstract, yet always contain something recognizable hidden within. They smile, tease, and invite you to look closer. Petersen plays with social themes without preaching. His linework is precise, his forms graphic, yet his art remains playful and full of life. By experimenting with layers, open canvas, and three-dimensional composition, he effortlessly breaks the boundaries between painting and design.

SONJA RIJBOSCH

Paintings

24 – 30 okt. 2025
OPENING on Saturday from 16:00h

Sonja Rijsbosch makes paintings that move — in color, in texture, and in feeling. Inspired by nature and guided by intuition, she works in layers — using acrylic paint and mixed materials to build up expressive, large-scale pieces.

“What I like about abstract art is that it gives you the freedom to see what you feel,” Sonja says. “You can give your own meaning to a piece of work. That makes each viewer’s experience unique. I hope to bring together positive energy, surprise and vibrancy in the work I create.”
Alongside her personal work, Sonja also creates commissioned paintings that grow from someone’s story or atmosphere into something unique and personal.

“as an artist, i observe.
searching for essence, purity, reason and emotion, abstraction tells the story
‘abstract-minimalisme’ as seen in the mono-ha movement, ‘artists like agnes martin’ and
‘musician and poet nick cave’ feels like home to me; fascinated by the stillness,
delicacy and controle that emanate from their work.
what has passed through my hands must be beautiful without reservation, adhering
to my own definition.
nature feeds my imagination and helps make ideas manifest and concrete.
rhythm and balance structure my work, letting me explore and create new
definitions, version by version.”

BAS SEBUS

Paintings

12 – 18 sep, 2025

Opening on Saturday from 16:00h

Bas Sebus (1961) is autodidact and worked in a realistic painting style until 2016. The paintings are based on literary or philosophical subjects. No still lifes or real landscapes but painted ideas. In recent years, Sebus has also been making more abstract work. The composition is made based on images from the real world. In many cases, a watercolor is first made, which then becomes the starting point for an oil painting.

Sebus participated twice in the Exhibition for the Royal Prize for Free Painting. From 2000 to 2004 he made panels for several cruise ships of the Holland America Line.

Tineke, Rianne en Michelle

PHOTOGRAPHY

27 June – 03 July 2025
OPENING on Friday from 17:00h

Michelle Blancke, Rianne Tegelaar, and Tineke van der Pouw Kraan studied together at the Fotoacademie. Their work strengthens each other, with images reflecting their sense of wonder, curiosity, sense of safety, and connection with nature.

Tineke reveals the hidden world of fungi and bacteria living in the soil alongside plant and tree roots. These underground microorganisms exchange nutrients with the roots and form a diverse ecosystem that supports the entire plant world. Much like the microorganisms in our intestines: invisible yet essential. She multiplies these microorganisms by cultivating them and captures the abundant biodiversity and delicate structures of soil life, combined with the macro world of the plant.

Rianne focuses on the fluidity of time and the boundary between memory and reality. In her work, solid structures fade: what disappears lingers somewhere; what dissolves returns in a new form. Time is not a straight line but a continuous movement where moments merge into one another. Through a play of light, reflection, and layering, she creates images in which reality and imagination merge. Water, mist, and reflections draw contours and let them dissolve again. The human presence is subtle, like a trace that continues to resonate. Her work evokes a sense of stillness—a space in between, where past and present collide and nothing ever truly disappears.

Michelle reveals the mystique of nature. Her series Secret Garden is a world unfolding in multiple dimensions—living landscapes, structures that seem to emit light, cosmic matter holding energy. Together, they merge into a meditation on the visible and the invisible, on the subtle forces of nature. Her images are portals inviting the viewer to enter a space of constant transformation, where reality is layered.

LINDA & SABINE
photography

13 June – 19 June, 2025

Opening on Saturday from 16:00h

LenS Photography

LenS stands for Linda Grool and Sabine Heetebrij, they are both photographers, graduates of the Photo Academy in Amsterdam.
Linda and Sabine often work together, but also individually in their own way on a project with an often socially relevant theme.

Linda Grool

Linda Grool creates new images from the existing images around her. The photographed reality acts as source material for the final image.
The starting point for her images are often subjects or places that touch or amaze her emotionally. Linda paints with layers and parts of her photos to create a new image that best illuminates her feelings and vision. Images of her associative reality.

More of Linda’s work can be seen on www.lindagroolfotografie.nl
For more information about the work mail to linda__grool@hotmail.com

Sabine Heetebrij

Themes such as decay and transience are regularly reflected in the work of Sabine Heetebrij. Preferably in an abstract way and especially where no people are involved, and the decay is natural.
Natural decay is elusive. Everything you leave to nature disappears over time. That’s a reassuring thought. Decay is not hard, sharp and clear, it is a (sometimes painful) slow process.

More of Sabine’s work can be seen on www.sabineheetebrijfotografie.nl

06–12 June 2024
Opening: Saturday, 7 June at 16:00

Glass, color and light, the perfect symbiosis
After completing my studies at the Staatliche Glasfachschule in Germany, I returned to Amsterdam. In addition to working with stained glass, sandblasting, glass painting, glass application, and restoration work, I later specialized in glass fusing, glass bending, and painting on glass.

With my art, I aim to build a bridge between science and art, and to invite people to view nature and the universe with fresh eyes. The motto of my work: “As above, so below.”

Naked therapyDrawings

12 – 20th of may, 2025

Opening on Saturday, from 16:00

I grew up in a talented family .
My mother did art school academy and was teaching drawing and painting .
She was specialized in portrets and nude.
My father did sculpture and ceramics .
I had one exhibition with them in 2000 when I was 30.
Over the years I did mainly drawings of animals ,especially dogs.
Also some landscapes and other subjects.
When my wife died in 2017 I started life drawing again to keep my mind at ease .
It became my way of coping with the loss and also a way to honour my wife’s strength .
An admiration in general for the person she was and how much she made me grow.

It became my “naked therapy “and after a while the therapy part went more into fun and development of my drawing skills and style.
This exhibition will show some of the most interesting ones of the seven years .

THIJS RIJKERS
exhibition – POSTPONED

Opening on Saturday from 16:00h

True craftsmanship is dying out, and nowadays everything is produced by computer-controlled processes. This method of production lacks a soul and the love, that you as a creator, invest in an object. By forming a connection with the material, it becomes an extension of you, and you establish a conscious or unconscious bond with it.
Mastery lies in making the techniques your own; true mastery is only achieved through artisanal human actions. These human actions also leave behind a certain imperfection, which lends a unique charm, a welcome byproduct.

Today, everything is hidden, whether on a mechanical level, in the overall workings of a physical phenomenon, or in the technology behind it. Through my work, I shine a light on what is often concealed. I incorporate these hidden beauties in my conceptual translation, an overarching theme throughout all my creations. Having mastered artisanal production techniques, I transform raw pieces of aluminum and brass into intriguing machines. I especially favor applying a refined industrial design in my work, a blend of “form follows function” with an elegant, high-quality aesthetic.

I often achieve a sense of sophistication using gold-colored brass, whereas the industrial design aesthetic is typically represented by steel or aluminum. The challenge always lies in the translation: how can I communicate as purely as possible what I feel and think to the viewer? What subtle or extreme movements can I use as a language to convey an emotion or a train of thought?

My goal is to allow the viewer to appreciate both the design and the conceptual translation, using the beauty, in my eyes, and its movement (both literal and figurative) to convey the underlying thought process.
I create machines that both astonish the viewer and provoke thought. I am always searching for mechanical poetry, the perfect combination of grace and narrative. In all my works, I strive to capture that grace through both movement and design.

In hoeverre will je die ingekort hebben? Hoeveel woorden?

.

KORE HEEREMA
photography

09,10,11 may, 2025

Opening on Saturday from 16:00h

Kore Heerema (1990), found his interest in photography from a young age, portraying friends and family and capturing nature scenes on holidays. When this all became more serious he started working with a lot of musicians, making portraits and interviews with young upcoming artist. In the meantime he studied at the Fotovakschool and Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and his focus shifted to other facets of photography, including urban scenes, still-life’s and fine art. With his eye for details his work shows unique and abstract photo’s.

The photos of Kore Heerema explores the intersection of reality and imagination. Attracted by shapes, line work and color combinations. Recognizable objects are resolved into patterns that challenge perception. By isolating and reinterpreting fragments of the everyday, images are created that allow the mind to wander beyond the ordinary. By manipulating, playing with focus and movement, emphasizing the abstract, exploring the hidden beauty in chaos, rhythm in randomness and harmony in contrast. The photographs are intended to provoke a visceral reaction rather than convey a literal meaning. Hoping that each viewer will form their own emotions and interpretations and see them in the work. Ultimately, art is about possibility, the endless potential to look beyond the surface and search for the abstract landscapes that exist in every moment of life. Hoping to capture the invisible and offer a new perspective on the world around us.

SHAGHAYEGH MARZBAN
Born of Ashes – paintings

02,03,04  may, 2025

Opening on Saturday from 16:00h

Shaghayegh Marzban (b. 1983, Tehran) is a seasoned Dutch-Iranian artist currently based in Amsterdam. With a passion for art since 2004 and a strong academic background, she has gained international recognition for her intricate illustrations. Her work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums worldwide. Through her ability to convey complex narratives with emotional depth, she demonstrates an unwavering commitment to her craft, driven by a profound love for art.

Art Statement: Born of Ashes

My work reflects the journey of being reborn from adversity of having been burned yet never extinguished, of having collapsed only to rise again. It tells the story of transformation, of emerging from pain and suffering to create beauty and meaning. The name “Born of Ashes” symbolizes not just my story, but my identity a reminder that no matter how much we are broken, we have the power to rebuild ourselves, to find strength in our vulnerability.

As an artist working primarily in self-portraiture, I use expressive and surreal techniques to delve into the complexities of personal identity and inner transformation. My art is a reflection of the emotional and psychological landscapes we traverse, marked by struggle, introspection, and ultimately, rebirth. In each piece, I seek to capture the tension between destruction and creation, between despair and hope, illustrating that even in the darkest moments, there is a potential for new growth.

The works in this exhibition speak to the resilience of the human spirit, a spirit that, no matter how often it is tested, will always find a way to rise. Every brushstroke, every line, every form is a testament to the belief that nothing no hardship, no pain can truly silence the soul. This exhibition is my tribute to the power of being “born of ashes.

MARIANNA STUHR

paintings

11 – 17 april 2025
OPENING on Saturday from 16:00h

Born in 1982 in Poland, Marianna is a visual artist with a PhD from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Currently living and working in Frankfurt, Germany, she has received numerous scholarships and awards, including those from the Ministry of Polish Culture and National Heritage, the Kosciuszko Foundation, and the Polish National Center of Culture.

Her art seeks a balance between tradition and modernity by blending contemporary expression with classic techniques like hand-printing and canvas painting, often conveying personal and intimate stories. Recent works vividly interpret memory processes, inspired by personal experiences and challenging family situations, and juxtapose these with neurobiological processes within the human mind and physical phenomena on micro and macro scales.

Earlier works, such as Parallel Universes (2023), explore astrophysics by giving new forms and contexts to distant universal processes while intertwining personal experiences. Through her art, Marianna meditates on the theme of existence, using painting as a form of narration and interpretation to deepen her connection with the universe.

DIMPHY & HILDE

exhibition

14 – 23 march 2025
OPENING on Saturday from 16:00h

DIMPHY CO = Dimphy Lichtveld Beniers

My art arises and develops as I let myself be inspired by the environment and the materials that are available.

In recent years I have worked with sustainable sourced materials, such as textile and ceramics. I like to challenge the materials by combining the unusual, and unexpected. Last but not least, circles have an incredible effect on me and love incorporating them into my art.

HIILDE
Nature as a garden.
Pristine wilderness transformed into natural landscapes.
We love creating our own garden.
The best and worst of us grow in these gardens.
Stories of growth and decay.
Everything is fragile.
Beauty can be found in ‘wear and tear.’
Following my curiosity within organized chaos.
Hoping to transform the fleeting into something more enduring.

MUNNIK

paintings

14 – 20 feb 2025
OPENING on Saturday from 16:00h

Growing up Munnik got inspired by nature, art, and his love for music. Combined with his love for people this seemed the perfect combination for his paintings.

Munnik captures the essence of a core evocation. Mixing neo-expressionism with abstraction he creates a fine yet loose interpretation of a visual memory. After 7 years of self-taught experience, he feels the lines leaving his body and expressing himself while drawing. His art is made days after party’s and travels the places where he finds true meaning in life, turning this into reflections of the soul and the way we are.

MOONLIGHT GARDEN – paintings

07 – 13 february. 2025
OPENING on Saturday from 17:00h

A garden at night bathed in the delicate glow of the moon, where everything is illuminated by a subtle light. Wet dew, enveloping the plants, shimmering with a silver glow. Moist lips. The air is saturated with the sweet scent of the earth.

You can smell the intoxicating scent of night flowers. The warmth of the midsummer night envelops you like Shakespeare’s lovers leaning in for a kiss. All you can hear are gentle murmurs, songs of the night pins and a seductive whisper.

A passer-by who accidentally comes across this night garden, surprised by its magical atmosphere, is unexpectedly drawn into the poetics of the night, becoming a greedy voyeur.
