WHISPERS FROM BELOW

In my artwork, I explore the history of medicine through art, seeking to visually convey the lived experience of patients of the past and the historical process of restoring these peoples’ voices in the present. In this age of rapid technological progress, human beings live longer and physically healthier lives than even. At the same time, we seem to become increasingly alienated from the profound human experiences of love, connection, suffering and dying. Why are we doing so much better, but feeling so much worse? In my mixed media artworks, I attempt to restore the whispers of humanity in a world that is becoming complex to the point of fracture.
